Jai Winter – “NEVER NEEDED”

Jai Winter channels into the frustration of not meeting his goals in “NEVER NEEDED.” The upbeat trap soundscape comprises soulful and jazzy elements. His cadence is akin to rappers like Kendrick Lamar.

As he leads his rhymes with full-on transparency, the poetic lyricist reveals that his soul is tired. After admitting to feeling somewhat hopeless during his progression, Jai Winter follows up with positive affirmations.

He spits bars like,

Shit, every day still feel the same/‘Member this shit use to feel like a game./I was climbing the levels with nothing to gain/Every level was different/The fight was the same.”

Additionally, Jai Winter raps

“I’m working late through the night, and nobody been giving me credit/I’ll never forget it/I’m on the rise/Where the sun doesn’t shine.”

Given his expertise, the MC advises the uninspired to keep pushing forward.

“Man, these niggas been the riding the wave/Till it’s time to go get it yourself/So much I did alone/Bitch I’m proud of myself,” he raps.

I was bad as the shit they put up on the shelf/Then I focused on me/I’m too good for your health/From the bottom/The problem was asking for help/If it’s something you need/Then you do it yourself.”

Despite encountering some rough times, Jai Winter remains strong-willed. He fights weaker moments by having tough skin

He delivers, “I never needed anybody for a shoulder./I would try not to cry baby./Tell em imma be fine baby.”
