NxG – “Loose Screws”

NxG ‘s “Loose Screws” accentuates the Philly rapper’s more melodic side and adaptiveness to any beat he’s given. At its core, the song serves as an introduction to NxG’s vocal flair.

In under three minutes, NxG has a lyrical face-off with a warm guitar-centered pop soundscape before transforming into Jersey Club. “Loose Screws” draws from a close friend’s dealing with love.

In its entirety, “Loose Screws” illustrates what happens when the rose-colored glasses come off. The theme draws from a close friend’s dealing with love. After reaching their breaking point, this individual affirms that the relationship is over. Although they’ve tried to stay around through thick and thin, the connection remains severed.

The extent of their attempts are reflected in these lines, “Never found itself a way to subside / It would keep building up and building up until a wall was between us I couldn’t see the other side.”

“’Loose Screws’ was born out of an emotional moment for a friend. After watching them struggle in a relationship for some time I wanted to give them a voice and a space to authentically express themself,” NxG says about the record.“The intention was for the song to be a voice and safe space for all in frustrating emotional moments.”

In closing “Loose Screws” helps others let go of things that do not serve them.

NxG’s previous project Equilibrium arrived on the heels of his lead singles “Mismatch” and “Next Up” with iayze. Before that, he released Outta Here Soon, an 8 track EP in collaboration with philly producer Collective Working on Dying
