Merik Spitteler – Never Alone

New Fire Alert! Born in Amsterdam, but grew up in a small town in the Northern part of Holland. When he heard ‘Child in Time’ from Deep Purple for the first time, he instantly fell in love with rock music. His piano teacher introduces him to the wonderful world of sound synthesis and started playing in many different teen bands. He also starts writing his own music and songs with other musicians influenced by The Beatles, and other popular music from the 60s and 70s. When he was a bit older he discovered his voice and singing brought him to several professional bands on big stages in the late 80s and 90s. Merik’s is influenced by many different music genres.

This can be felt in the music he writes. His first solo album ‘The Year of The Dragon’ (2012) has a pop/rock kind of feel. But also has afro beats and funky guitar sounds. Over the following years, his passion for electronic music doesn’t disappear and he decides to go back to school to become a professional producer.

In 2019 he graduates with honors and he slowly set his first steps in composing new music. His latest song ‘Never Alone’ is the first of a new style he wants to explore and develop more. He gets his inspiration from daily life, sounds, films and of course other artists, such as Avicii, especially the song ‘Sunset Jesus’ gave him the spark to do what he loves to do most: Making his own songs in the studio, with interesting vocals, catchy melodies and electronic beats.
