Leon Thomas Gears Up for the Release Of His Highly Anticipated Album “Electric Dusk”

This past weekend we had the pleasure of sitting in on a more interpersonal artist conference, showcasing singer/songwriter and producer Leon Thomas. Huge shoutout to our colleagues over at Motown and EZMNY Records for creating an intimate forum for open conversation with the R&B sensation. It was great to see Leon poised and relaxed and also very excited to talk about his upcoming project “Electric Dusk.”

Lead singles “Breaking Point” and “Crash & Burn” illustrate the depth of Leon’s sound, between ballads and gospel infused soundscapes. When asked which song was his favorite, Leon didn’t hesitate to state that “Breaking Point,” was his favorite and most vulnerable song on the project.

“This album makes me think about the 1960s, drop-top Cadillac at the drive-in, looking out at a scenic view, listening to a crooner sing about love. I wanted to capture that vibe with these records but in a new way.”

Admittedly, Leon mentions the frustrations that came with constructing the album. When you’re a “celebrity,” the public is restricted to seeing only the glitz and glamour of the music world. But through the angst and feelings of not being heard, Leon found solace in putting Electric Dusk together. He emphasized the importance of his team and how the right team can define how long and how far an artist can go.

Leon was humble enough to acknowledge a few greats he’s worked with, stating that he definitely channeled some of his creative predecessors while creating the project. and he wasn’t too far from his producer bag, Leon revealed that he mixed all of the tracks on Electric Dusk.

It’s no secret, Leon Thomas is well seasoned in the game. Your favorite artists’ favorite songwriter is continuing to trailblaze and take centerstage as lead vocalist. You can catch Leon on the “more motion less emotion,” tour with Ty Dolla $ign this fall. For more Leon Thomas listen HERE.
