glu To Drop ‘ULTRAGLU’ On June 18th

glu‘s musical styling leaves you at a standstill. Crossing between illimitable genres, the rap artist raises eyebrows with his straightforward rhymes and pulsating energy. To date, he’s scored numerous co-signs, placements, and fans. Likewise, his debut single amassed over 1500 streams on Spotify, and it’s caught the attention of overseas content creators.

Currently, glu is prepping for the release of his album, ULTRAGLU. The artist also plans to hit the stage for his debut performance, pending Melbourne Lock Down. One single off the album is titled “VHS” and features 2B and GIOVANNI from KELPER-22. The song was written during the lockdown we witnessed earlier last year.

He adds, “That cooped up feeling trying to escape inspired a lot of ‘VHS.'”

“VHS” gives listeners an out-of-body experience. Merging sinister arrangements with a sci-fi meets metal hip-hop instrumental, glu uses his bars to introduce himself to those just getting familiar with his sound. The flow he upholds throughout “VHS” is swift.

Subsequently, the song’s hyperactive energy can be felt from start to finish. Deeper into the song, listeners learn that glu isn’t interested in fame. He’s moved by being able to provide for himself and his loved ones.

The musician also intends on being unapologetically himself. If someone talks slick, he’ll make sure they are properly dealt with. His features also expresses a similar view, but takes a moment to enjoy what life offers. After all, life is a game like VHS.

About the lyric composition, glu says

“I love Gio’s part. It just adds a completely different flavor to the track that breaks it up nicely for me. I was expecting him to do some rapping but what he delivered was so much more than that. I was a massive fan of his before I reached out to him, and he’s honestly the dopest guy to work with.”

As for the album, expect each record to mirror glu’s time in lockdown in Melbourne. Wholeheartedly, ULTRAGLU captures the chaos, the emptiness, and angsty he felt. It also documents the artist’s imagination of what it would be like once the restrictions were lifted and, in his words, everyone can get lit as fuck again.

Stay tuned!
