Chase Murphy ‘Never In Debt, Forever Indebted,’ Album Review

It’s always a pleasure tapping in with our boy Chase Murphy. We’re honored to witness greatness in the making. Chase is having quite a productive musical run this year. He’s been nothing short of consistent, currently headlining his own in-state and international tour. Trailblazing and connecting with fans all over, this small town boy is a long way from Boston.

Never In Debt, Forever Indebted is a true testament to Murphy’s unrelenting grit and hard work. The 9-track project is described as an immersion into “melodic darkness,” a black canvas painted with color and that is exactly what you get. At first glance, when you come across Chase Murphy you see a clean cut, young artist trying to make it and put on for his city; but there is always more behind the music. This album is inherently a culmination of tracks that highlight Chase’s tumultuous musical journey as an independent artist.

It costs to be the boss and Chase knows it all too well. Songs like “Flaunt,” and “Race,” feat. Nessly foreshadow Murphy’s angst and the pressures that come with the music business. But through all of the trials and tribulations Murphy takes the time to express his gratitude on tracks like “The Morning After.” The theme of the project depicts hustle and grind, but occasionally we get to see a more vulnerable and romantic side of Chase Murphy with songs like “Waitin On You,” feat. Maari and “Spaghetti Western,” (which happens to be one of my personal favorites).  Murphy appears to be serenading to a love interest.

Overall, Never In Debt, Forever, In Debted tells a story of resilience and determination. If Chase Murphy keeps it up, he could become a household name in the game; He is crushing Independent Music  Artistry right now. We’d give the project a 7.5/10 only because after listening to all 9-tracks we wanted to hear more!! But, definitely a must listen. Check it out.
