In “Sound Off (Halftime),” Boi Fresh clarifies that he’s working aimlessly for what he wants. Matching the energy of a victorious-styled trap beat, the rapper drops confident bars because, after all, his sauce is A1. Following this, Boi Fresh showcases how he never settles for less.
“Man I need all racks/Stack up my income/I take it straight down the middle/Ya feel me/Hit it wit a slam dunk,” he spits.
From there, the Starter Pack musician details his charm and how it can sometimes make other men envious. Unlike them, however, Boi Fresh is naturally gifted in all areas.
In his words, “Just like Allen/I don’t really need to practice.”
Reaping the benefits of his and his close friends’ hard work, he spits in the chorus, “This is for my dawgs/Thought we’d never make it here/All against the odds.”
Elsewhere in “Sound Off (Halftime),” Boi Fresh delivers some more boastful rhymes, including
“I’m so high up in this thang/Like ya boy from outer space/I’m so cold up in this bitch/Watch out you might just catch a case.“
Before the song closes, the artist gives himself a pat on the back.
He raps. “I’m talking champion/Jay-Z/Beyoncé /Ring the alarm/This the anthem here.”
He’s proud of the results that have spouted from his determination. And ultimately, “Sound Off (Halftime)” is one of those records that bank in on this statement.
