2:2 Grabs UTM Yopp For Heavy Hitting Single “Wait On Me”

“Wait On Me” was my first introduction to Jersey artist 2:2, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The Hip-Hop/R&B artist only has two singles on streaming platforms right now along with some impressive features, so you’re still early. Her first single, “Serenity” feat. I$h K is a mellow trap-soul offering originally released in November of 2019. The song is an amazing combination of neo-soul elements and modern alternative R&B among the likes of Summer Walker, Smino, Bryson Tiller, and more. 2:2 came with vocals and vibes for the soul. Cut this one on if you’re looking for some peace or some inspiration to process your feelings. The song is 10/10 and I$h K offered the perfect Hip-Hop feature to bring it home.

If you’re anything like me, going from “Serenity” to this headbanging trap single will have you wondering how this is the same artist. 2:2 has some range to say the least. The Newark, NJ artist is talking her sh*t over heavy bass and percussion. She quickly makes her presence known, delivering boisterous and cocky lyrics letting you know that she’s that. Fortunately, she clearly has the talent, style, and presence to back up her claims.

With just two singles, 2:2 has proven that she can go from sour to sweet real fast. Duality at it’s finest. Her talent and skill set is something we need to pay attention to. You may love her for her heartfelt lyrics and ability to articulate love while expressing her softer side. Or, you may be a fan of her lyrical ability, showing off endless pockets, rhyme schemes, and cadences with punch lines that make you tell your friends. With such a good understanding of song structure and melody, she is poised to make hit after hit. I’ll definitely be tuned in for her next release. For now, listen to “Serenity” and “Wait On Me” on all streaming platforms.
