Zoloft Zombie and LJ the Alien have come together to present the world with AVZ, an album that’ll surely make you feel like you’re in another universe. Clocking in at nearly thirty-seven minutes, the spacey meets hip-hop musical composition sees the duo speaking on their come-up, how they put haters to rest, their vices, and their charm with the ladies. These topics are also met with words about their tenacity and inner thoughts.
In the album’s entirety, we are taken on Zoloft Zombie and LJ the Alien’s journey as they are brought to a place out of the norm. Though AVZ took two-and-a-half years to complete, it was all worthwhile.
Circling back to AVZ’s sound, the project interlocks astronomical elements with hip-hop and ambient soundscapes. In the same token, AVZ carries a whole lot of base and noteworthy lyrics that fit perfectly for Instagram captions. The mesh of hard spitting and silky auto-tune like singing is perfect for the beats that they’ve chosen.
Out of respect for the two artists, I will not break down the songs because I do not want to mix up who is who. Still, the tracks I recommend that you give a spin to are “Emptiness,” “Frieza,” “AVZ,” and “Pure Evil.” Ultimately, AVZ is excellent to listen to when you’re on a late-night cruise, getting ready for an event, or in times of reflection.
