Queens, New York-based artist Will Diaz refuses to be boxed in. Curating a distinctive sound that blends genres, Will attests his status of being an artist to watch for. Like his favorite musician, Drake, Will has a surefire way of breaking out into the rapsphere. Amid penning lyrics, he uses his work ethic and life experiences to touch on a plethora of subjects. To compare his musical styling with another is entirely impossible, for Will tests arrangements with a plethora of flows.
His last single, “New Level,” landed on Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist. In the same manner, Will’s newest release, “Neglect” is racking up numbers. Case in point, Will should be topping the charts in no time.
Will’s song, “Neglect,” was produced by Dayout and engineered by Ayyolucas, a close friend of his.
“I wanted to give my supporters something brand new, physically with a new song, and sonically with the beat and melodies that I used,” he adds.
Over a somber R&B beat that carries kick-snares, piano loops, hi-hats, and a heavy bassline, Will goes in about the haters who pray for his downfall. To add, he says that no one can stop his grind.
“I had to move alone, I was finding my road/Had to cut you off when I saw them bad intentions, had leave you alone/Try to show you times that I was winning, didn’t know you’d want to see me fall,” he sings in a velvety autotune.
In hindsight, Will excels at staying on his P’s and Q’s.
Elsewhere, Will speaks about loyalty, unveiling that “A lot of people talk, but it matters where you are when I need you most.” Additionally, he admits that it’s hard to trust others nowadays. “Need the truth/There’s no more faking/Are you really down to ride with me, or are you flaking?” he sings.
