Unblithe – “mismatch”

Unblithe

Backed up by static noise, piano loops, and a lofi/electronica beat, Unblithe channels into his vulnerability to express his feelings towards someone who only calls “at their convenience” in “mismatch.”

He kills this anonymous person’s obliviousness with honesty about how they’ve scorned him. The lyrics are followed by Unblithe telling this person to hit him up at their convenience sarcastically

Using autotune to depict the nature of their relationship, he states:

The words behind the wallpaper get louder every day/The conversations ending, and I don’t know what to say/Oh, and if you’re wondering, I’m not doing ok/Caught inside your web of lies you just want me to stay.”

Unblithe

This passage follows a lamentation about their falling out and how it affects him.

Aggravated by this person’s wishy-washy ways, Unblithe tells them to leave him in peace.

Say whatever’s on your mind/And tell me you don’t really mean it,” he sings “Don’t wanna wake up again/I’ll stay here trapped instead.”

The other person on “mismatch” shadows the same sentiment. They detail their heavyheartedness and how this person’s malice has changed their way of living.

My purpose is gone now/I left it behind/I ran to my room/Just to go to bed and cry,” they say. “Slam the door in my face/Like I didn’t even care/There’s so much of me missing/Wonder if I’m still there.”
