Tomis Reil – “I’m Scared.”

Tomis Reil professes that he’s afraid of losing his one true love in “I’m Scared.” The acoustic guitar-led pop offering gives Tomis a safe space to unveil the depth of their chemistry.

From the start, he wonders if his lover will hold on to what they have. Inferring that he “doesn’t want another lesson” and “just wants to be blessed with,” Tomis Reil details how they hit it off. 

“Before our connection was 24/7/When it was your complexion that got my attention,” he delivers in a vibrant cadence. “‘Fore Dungeons & Dragons or anything magic/Or life in the past tense was a lil tragic/Before our 1st date when you shared half your plate/An hour long hang turned to a whole day.” 

As the song continues, Tomis Reil describes the kind of woman he wants by his side. Instead of dealing with someone who’s “hot-and-cold,” he desires someone who’s in their relationship for the long haul. 

Later, the “Leave Me Be” artist asks his amor for clarity. Given the lyrical context, Tomi’s almost-girlfriend isn’t communicating with him about where they stand. 

“Ayo, ayo, ayo now/Are we each other’s pronouns/You say “he’s mine” when we’re out/But she said no to tie down,” he raps. “I can’t tell if we’re in love/Or running on our lust/We talk now every day/To say how sh-t it was.” 

In the end, Tomis Reil confesses that their relationship status is up in the air. 

“We are both too scared to ask each other which step to take/We’re friends in bed but won’t share a name,” he spits.
