The Process Drops Thoughtful Track Cradle 2 The Grave

Up and coming artist The Process drops thoughtful track “Cradle 2 The Grave” featuring his musical inspiration Renaissance X.

When I first listened to this record, it brought me a little bit of nostalgia because it reminded me of a song off an old WWE soundtrack that you would here in the intro of either The Undertaker or Batista coming out to the ring. When talking to The Process, he told me he started his career as an artist as a form of self expression. He uses his art as a way to escape the trials and tribulations that he has faced in his life. This is clear through his hardcore lyrics. Throughout Cradle 2 The Grave, there are many standout lines that allow the listener to interpret the story that The Process is portraying. One of the first lines that caught my attention was “Everything I did I thought I diminished.” The Process was counted out and may have thought he was not going to make it out of the deep hole he was in.

Furthermore, another thing from this track that stood out was the hook. The hook’s Rap/Rock influence is the main reason why I mentioned this song having a WWE feel to it. In the hook he says  “You’re a Master or a Slave it`s all up to you”. In this day and age we become the masters of our own destiny. Whatever choices you make in life will either have you becoming a master at your craft and living an overall good life or a slave to a system that is made to hold you down. You have to maximize your own potential and be the best version of yourself to get something out of this life. After the first hook The Process tells his audience “ Couldn’t see the light guess you call it tunnel vision; my kaleidoscope eyes I’ll never change an image; kill the competition with my written composition”. He’s simply portraying that he wants to be the best and works hard at it with his bars. Towards the end of the track, The Process repeats the hook multiple times in a quieter vocal tone to echo the message once again for the audience.

Even though this is his first track, The Process shows a lot of promise and really wants to relay a message to his audience about using his music as an escape from everyday life. After having the chance to interview The Process and listening to his debut track Cradle 2 The Grave, I think the New York artist has a lot of potential if he keeps at it and starts to learn the ins and out`s of the recording process and the music business.

How did you get your artist name?

The Process “The name came from my approach to music and all aspects of how I deal with life. I was always quiet and observant, processing everything around me both visually and sonically. The name “Process” is the idea that there’s always more to do, more to learn, more to give. That’s my music, my life and how I process it. ”

When did you start making music?

The Process “I made my first attempt in 2016 but it didn’t stick because I didn’t know what I wanted to say. 2018 came around and a friend of mine Renaissance X took me under his wing and really guided me so I’d say 2018 was the official start. ”

What made you want to become an artist?

The Process “Expression of self. I grew up on hip hop since I was 4 years old and a family friend introduced me to Tupac. Since then it was always my go to when I needed an escape. Listening was no longer enough and I wanted to escape through writing and creating.

What makes you different from other artists?

The Process “Content. Everything written is from the soul. I don’t care to portray an image of being gangster, sipping lean, or any of that. What you hear is me, my stories. I think people can relate to that. ”
