We love your new fire music! How did you come up with the concept for the song?
“Strike Em Where They Lie,” was actually written during peak COVID – Chase had been watching a lotta Last Kingdom so he was heavy on some midevil shit when we came up with that one.
What is your favorite part about the song?
It’s hard for us to pick out a specific part, but I guess the way it comes in, drums first, it has a good energy and sets the tone. The riff Raz comes up w/grooves really well.
What were you most meticulous about on your latest song?
We’re pretty meticulous about the entire recording process. Everyone does their homework to knock out their strong performance. And we’re really involved in the mixing process.
Your latest collaboration, how did this come about?
Well, being there we’re a band it’s always a collaborative effort ya know? We haven’t released anything featuring another artist, YET, but we actually have a killer, legendary shredder featuring on our next project – stay tuned on that!
Who did what on the song?
We’re currently a 4 piece Raz – Guitar, Chris – Drums, Tony – Bass and Chase – vocals. We fluctuate between a 4 and 5 piece on stage.
What was the writing process like?
Typically Raz comes up w/the initial riff and arrangement and then we all work on our parts from there.
What kind of mood was set in order to create the magic?
A little tequila and rowdiness. Haha.
Is there a critique you’ve gotten on the single that you worked through and it’s made the overall work better?
Well we have a good working relationship with our engineers and producers, so we definitely take their cues, trust their ears. Oddly enough, there’s no crazy egos, so everyone is pretty open to criticism so the product is fire.
What are you most excited about for fans to hear on your latest single?
More good time rock n roll. Ya know, we’re not reinventing the wheel, but rather sticking to the basics, good riffs & fun melodies.
What has been the best feedback so far?
Most of it has been pretty good. The feedback from gigs is always the best.
Leave us with your favorite fire lyrics of the song?
“Face in the sand, scared of what’s next,
I’m coming at you fast,
Best be prepared, no where to take cover,
You’re under attack”
