Rauly’s “In The Eyes” Is The Perfect Love Story

Rauly, the talented singer from Fullerton, California, has been a performer since the age of five. The songwriter, musical theater performer, and guitarist has been perfecting his sound ever since. His goal is to bring fans a unique blend of genres that you’ve never heard before, and he’s done just that on his new pop single ‘In The Eyes’. Rauly describes the single as a modern day version of a classic love song. The lyrics play off of age old themes like falling in love, with just enough hip-hop influence to exist among today’s top hits. The stars aligned when Rauly landed a studio session with platinum selling producer Charlie Heat, and this is one of the first singles that emerged form the electrifying session.

I been here before/ feelings I can’t ignore. I try and try but I just can’t suppress them anymore.

The singer-songwriter Rauly perfectly expresses the gray area many of us have been through in relationships; when you’ve spent more than the allotted time with someone to justify a fling, but not enough time to be confident in something more serious. So how exactly do you define the circumstances without feeling stupid? Rauly bears it all, dropping his ego and candidly asks his partner to “look me in the eyes and tell me you love me”. It’s not always that easy, but Rauly lets us dream. The artist passionately sings every word as the sun sets behind him, hopefully representing the end of today’s uncertainty and the start of something beautiful.

Where are you from?

 

Rauly: I’m from Fullerton, CA! For those that don’t know, it’s the city right next to Anaheim and Disneyland.

 

How long have you been making music?

 
Rauly: I started writing songs about ten years ago but released my first songs about five years ago.

 

Did you always know you wanted to be an artist?

 

Rauly: Yes, I’ve always known! I’ve been singing my whole life and actually started performing in musical theater when I was five years old. I started playing guitar at eight years old and would do talent shows and choir performances. I’ve always been an artist at heart and I’m so happy to finally have the opportunity to show that!

 

How would you describe your debut single ‘In The Eyes’ to a new listener?

 

Rauly: ‘In The Eyes’ is my modern day version of a classic love song. It combines the lyrics and melody of a pop ballad with the production of modern hip-hop to create something that will be different from anything you’ve heard!

 

Why did you feel like this was the perfect single to lead with?

 
Rauly: I felt this was perfect to lead with because it was one of the first songs I made with Charlie and it was one of our favorites. I think it showcases my sound perfectly!

 

Which lyrics from ‘In The Eyes’ will fans relate to the most?

 
Rauly: I think the lyrics tell a story that’s relatable to a lot of people. If I had to choose one line that’s the most relatable I would say the hook “look me in the eyes when you tell me you love me cause baby otherwise how will I know it’s true” because everyone’s felt nervous about saying I love you and whether the person they love truly loves them back.

 

How did you link up with platinum selling producer Charlie Heat?

 
Rauly: Last year, I was still in college and I was making a lot of music. I saw an Instagram post on Charlie’s story saying he was taking music submissions and sent him some music I’d been working on. He replied saying it was fire and sent me beats to make more songs to. Eventually, I met him at his studio and we’ve been working together ever since!

 

What else do you want fans to know about you?
