Oso Wild – “Villain”

Oso Wild reflects on the death of his loved ones & how it’s affected him in “Villain.” The gloomy trap beat does exceptionally well at mirroring the song’s overall theme. From a lyrical POV, the rapper opens up about how he’s been dealing with the pain. To summarize, these losses come as a total shock & are something that’ll always weigh heavy on his heart. He admits to missing these special individuals & believes they died too soon.

Using an autotune cadence, he spits

“God, why?/Wasn’t ready for them to leave yet.“

Elsewhere in the song, Oso Wild forewarns others not to push him to the edge. He promises that their actions will come with a consequence. Moreover, he insinuates that an opp can get smoked if they’re brave enough to walk through the fire. 

The song is the perfect lyrical montage for those grieving a lost one. Sometimes, there aren’t enough words to express the grieving process. Luckily, “Villain” gives others the gist of how it feels. 

Grief never really goes away. You just learn to live with it.

1: What is your stage name? 

My stage name is Oso Wild. 

2: Where are you from? 

I’m from Charlotte, NC. 

3: How long have you been creating music? 

I’ve been making music my whole life. 

4: What inspires you to make music? 

I lost my Brother, my close friend, in 2019 & it made me go 10x harder.

On top of that, I just lost my Grandma. I have a lil daughter to feed with another on the way. I have a lot to lose. I’m all in. 

5: What is your favorite track off your first EP?

I haven’t dropped one yet.

6: Any influences? Musical or in general?

My favorite music video shoot was “Uh Duh (feat Kiing Shooter). 

8: What do you aim for in your overall sound? What is your message? 

I want the world to hear what I have been through & to witness greatness in the making. 

9: Any upcoming projects on the way? 

I got hella unreleased music in store on top of the music. I just make out emotions sometimes. So I got some pressure OTW.
