LUM – “Motions”

LUM asks for reassurance from his better half in his rock meets hip-hop offering “Motions.” Propped by an electric guitar loop, kick snares, and other lively arrangements, the Canadian artist drops transparent lyrics to express how confused he feels about the “Motions” he and his soulmate have been going through lately. Seeking answers to his most burning questions, LUM wonders where they truly stand.

While using a melodic delivery, he sings “Just tell me how you feelin’/Do my best to keep it real/Only wanna have those conversations that’s gon’ heal.”

As the song continues, LUM reveals that he feels misled by the seemingly emotional rollercoaster in their relationship. Despite this constant cycle, LUM asserts that he’s with her for the long haul.

“We’re going through motions and I can’t control it/’Cause I’m so devoted to you,” he delivers.

The rest of “Motions” finds LUM dropping more vulnerable lyrics about the current state of his relationship. Throughout the second verse, LUM admits that sometimes he feels like his partner will look for love elsewhere. Although he isn’t perfect, LUM assures his darling that he’s worth it.

The musician hopes that they can weather the storms that lie ahead. “I know I ain’t perfect but it ain’t a sin though/It’s like you want me to say I’m wrong/Feel like I’m the one that kept us going strong,” he croons.

Elsewhere, the artist makes it known that he can’t “do that fake love” before wondering why it’s so easy for her to switch up in their relationship. He asks his wife to “leave the problems in the past,” so their love can continue to evolve.
