Lowkeynel – “Mercy”

Lowkeynel vows to never love again in her song “Mercy.” Over the calm R&B instrumental, the rapstress lets her emotion spill into her wordplay as she speaks about former experiences with dating. Time after time, she took a chance on being with that special one. Now, Lowkeynel says her focus is on making money and flourishing within the hip-hop industry. Overall, she’s tired of playing cat and mouse

She expresses, “Just wife me/Hold me tight/Don’t take me lightly.”

Elsewhere she raps, “Tryna rob me for my heart, don’t make me call a judge. I’m content with my sh*t, and I won’t indulge.”

Amidst the track, the Gemini Vibes II musician speaks about her success, giving credit to her work ethic. With this in mind, listeners understand her mentality and why she’s always on the daily grind. In a direct tone, she says, “On my way to a bag, no time for romance.”

Rather than be “booed up,” she wants to shower herself with affection (in the form of dollar signs).

Lowkeynel is a New York-based songwriter, rapper, and hip-hop artist. She’s been in the music industry since 2013. In the span of her career, she’s dropped two mixtapes and several singles. Her inspirations include Missy Elliott, J.Cole, Nicki Minaj, A Boogie, Lil Baby, Lady Saw, and Fabolous. Aside from hip-hop, she dabbles in pop and dancehall.
