First things first, I am not a Lil Yachty hater! Let’s get that out of the way. Despite popular opinion, the Atlanta native has been rapping pretty well these last couple of years. Even the biggest backpackers would have to admit that his bars have gotten better since his melodic cat noises circa 2015. Yachty knows himself well and clearly knows his fans even better. After numerous above average to great verses on projects like Nuthin 2 Prove, Lil Boat 3 & 3.5, as well as Michigan Boy Boat, nothing has gotten his fans going like his latest track exclusively released on SoundCloud titled “Poland”.
It doesn’t seem like Yachty’s core fans want bars from him! Lil Boat repeats “I took the wock to Poland” about 15 times, honestly sounding like he’s singing in to a box fan. He only raps about 6 bars in the entire song. Nonetheless, it worked. Lil Yachty’s auto tune vocal run sounds good over the beat. The tune or harmony of his voice is very catchy. I guess Yachty can tap back in to this bag whenever he wants. While some look down on it, there’s a large crowd that wants to hear this from Yachty even though he’s been focused on delivering better verses lately. Coupled with some shaky vocal vibrato and a super lit fan created Instagram promo clip, Poland by Lil Yachty quickly took a life of its own on the internet, gaining millions of streams in under a week.

Whether this song is a joke, a meme, or a short trend, the 83 second single has over 5 million streams on SoundCloud in just 5 days. The comments are riddled with things like “old Yachty back” and “wooooooock” among other things. With no major label push and no real rollout, this track clearly struck a chord with Lil Yachty’s core fanbase. While Boat has made an effort to improve his pen game, work on his wordplay and entendres, it seems like every now and then his supporters just want something simple and catchy to repeat at obnoxious levels.
With all that said, let us know what you think about Lil Yachty taking the wooooooooooooooock to Polaaaaaaand.
