Lil T2x – “Betrayed”

Lil T2x expresses his emotions toward the person responsible for his brother’s death in “Betrayed.” The instrumental, at first, takes on a pop-rock instrumental before blending somber trap arrangements. Using a speedy, West Coast-like flow, the rapper vocalizes what happened between himself and someone he once considered family.
He raps, “You turned your back on me but we ain’t finna talk about that story/We gon talk bout how all this money coming for me.”
Given the context, we can concur that this figure backstabbed Lil T2x. Although they want to make things right, he says it’s way too late.
“You gave up your position, so it’s dead/But now you want back in/But that ain’t how we finna play it.”
Deeper into the song, the artist speaks about music being his safe haven.
“And I don’t f*ck with counseling so beats come in the best.“
His goal is to ascend in the music scene.
More into the song, Lil T2x opens up about the pain he’s endured, saying, “Them church bells ring inside my heart that’s why I’m numb/Cause I done lost too much/Too much on my mind, feeling foggy.” Following this, he leaves warning bars for opps who’re feeling froggy.
Then, the burgeoning emcee expresses why he’s hated on, likely because of his talent and charm.
Elsewhere in the verse, he says he can forgive but he and his bros will never forget what this once special individual did.
“You was hurting in the moment/Yeah I understand/But why you have to take my brother man/Man, that shit was excessive/You hurt the gang with that sh*t.“
Though he’s sad, he isn’t going to use this time to mope around. Instead, Lil T2x will work hard to obtain his dreams.
“Get back to the grind, we on a mission/And in the name of JR, everything I say gon be a hit.”
Once he makes it, he’s going to provide for his loved ones. Lil T2x also says to free his boy Jordan and leaves him with some moving words.
The rest of the song finds the Long Live Jr curator detailing his drip, ways with women and how he will take care of the opps,
All-in-all, he says to his boys: “We gon ride for each other.“
