Alabama Artist KVNG TXNE Releases Fire New Singles “SKYDIVE” & “RIGHT NOW”

Mobile, Alabama artist Jalen Antone, better known as KVNG TXNE, describes his introduction to music as “love at first rap”. Sometimes a hidden talent finds you. That is the case for this budding artist out of Bama who’s been freestyling to YouTube beats since he was 8 years old. Off the bat, we could tell that TXNE had a good ear for music, citing inspirations from Tame Impala to Damian Marley to the Queens, New York native Nas. For that reason, we went in to KVNG TXNE’s new singles “RIGHT NOW” and “SKYDIVE” with high expectations.
We quickly learned that beyond music, KVNG TXNE’s ultimate mission is to unite the world through art and expression. With intentions to build real connections with his fanbase, we were anxious to see how much TXNE would open up on in his music. Would we really get to know who KVNG TXNE is as a person, or would we just simply admire the way he rhymes?
If you guessed both, you are correct. KVNG TXNE is an Alternative Rap artist with a lot of swagger. His music is carefree, light, relatable, and fun. Beyond the good vibes and ethereal instrumentation, KVNG TXNE delivers memorable lyrics while exploring a slew of different pockets. He takes his delivery further, strategically using voice inflections and tonality to add even more flavor to his music.
Of the two new singles, RIGHT NOW is definitely the standout for us. The track was near perfect for what it is; an extremely catchy pop single fit for every summer kickback. This song makes you feel like you’re on your fifth drink and third blunt immediately. By that, I simply mean KVNG TXNE’s vocals on top of the dreamy instrumentation is out of this world. The entire experience is slurred, or in slow motion. TXNE adds to the vibe by repeating lyrics in sequence to really make you zone out. All of a sudden, all you hear is his background, Kid Cudi hum-esque melodies holding the song together through out.
While RIGHT NOW was our favorite, we don’t want to overlook “SKY DIVE”. This song is titled perfectly. As soon as the song starts, it feels like you just jumped out of a plane. TXNE starts rapping out of his mind over nicely tuned background vocal layers. The background melodies added a Travis Scott feel to the song, one of the pioneers of the Alternative Rap genre known for over the top instrumentation and spacelike audio effects. TXNE got deeper in to his lyrical bag on this one with witty metaphors over a knocking beat.

How did you get your artist name?
KVNG TXNE “In the beginning stages of my music career I went by the alias J. Tone due to my government name being Jalen Antone. I feel like over the past couple of years I’ve revamped my style, approach, and character towards the music and myself that converted my stage name to KVNG TXNE (KING TONE) now.”

When did you start making music?
KVNG TXNE “I began free-styling to beats on YouTube and learning to write when I was eight years old.”

What made you want to become an artist?
KVNG TXNE “I had no idea I wanted to become a music artist until I found out I was capable. That first initial attempt to rap was a moment of value that’s hard to forget. It’s like love at first rap.”

KVNG TXNE “Of all time – Lil Wayne, Tame Impala, Kanye West, Damian Marley, Travis Scott, Nas, Kendrick (Lamar), and Joey Bada$$…just a few.”

How would you describe your sound to a new fan?
KVNG TXNE “It’s funny because I tried to classify this the other day when someone asked me the same question. Part of me wants to say Alternative Rap…if it technically was a genre. I try to base that answer around my production sound. At the end of the day it’s rap over beautiful instrumentation”

Tell us about your submitted release?
KVNG TXNE “’RIGHT NOW’ and ‘SKYDIVE’ are two recent tracks I’ve cleared for single releases. These two tracks in concept perspective have a similarity, there’s the notion of guilty pleasure being conveyed in both. “RIGHT NOW” is guilt coming with satisfaction. “SKYDIVE” is knowing you’ve taken matters too far.”

What’s the main thing you want fans to take away?
KVNG TXNE “Relatability. I want for my fans, first time listeners and everybody to be able to feel & relate to real life that’s
just converted into music form. Everyday we’re living someone’s lyrics. Im just telling my life story for the
next listener to feel it.”
