KVNG TXNE‘s “Mirror” finds the musician expressing how he’s changed for the better. Over a spacey trap beat, the Alabama-based rapper thanks a certain someone for pushing him to be the best version of himself. Moreover, KVNG TXNE thinks back on moments when he shouldn’t have “overlooked what he saw in the mirror.” After taking some time away for shadow work, the artist understands his former self. Reflecting on his upbringing, KVNG TXNE spits in an auto-tune cadence,
“I carry too much after my OG/I guess that’s probably why you’ll never know me/Across the track with Prichard where they raised me.”
After recalling what’s been instilled in his mind about evolving, he explains why he had to “disconnect for a minute.” This statement is followed by regret for being adamant about self-improving.
“Had to face the demons that controlled me/I guess that’s why the Devil never stole me/You told me go and get it I remember that/Took so many losses you told me go get them back,” he raps.
Jalen Harvey Antone, known as KVNG TXNE, is an artist, lyricist, rapper, singer, songwriter, engineer, producer, and director. He’s influenced by artists such as Kanye West, Nasir, Lil Wayne, and Damian Marley. After tapping into his lyrical talents at eight years old, he began to pen bar. As said by the rapper, “he utilizes awe-inspiring sounds in his music that evokes a euphoric feeling like no other.”
There is an inspiration through his reality, and he uses it as motivation to express himself through hip-hop. Additionally, his music reflects experienced adversities, afflictions, and his embraced fortunes.
