We’re all familiar with the saying “Home is where the heart is,” and I’m pretty sure we’ve all experienced the sweetest love and the toughest of heartbreaks. Whether it be for a long period of time or short term, we certainly feel the emptiness and disorientation of a relationship ending. When grieving the loss of a special bond, there’s always a somber period we all go through and Kiana Tenille craftily personifies this feeling in her latest single “Homesick.”

Kiana begins with soft riffs and runs over melancholy piano keys. Gradually, the compelling cadence of the lyrics pick up and the beat kicks in. I was a bit taken aback by the single, I didn’t expect it to stir up so much emotion. But that’s the main purpose of true R&B; to evoke affection and vulnerability. “Homesick,” is the epitome of rhythm and blues.

At the tender age of 21, Kiana Tenille impressively showcases her musical composition skills with each and every melody.
