Hi Stacy! Thanks for being here today!
We are going to play a game of “firsts”, so here we go!
What is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is, check my phone, first for the time, then for any messages, then for social media.
What was the first concert you attended?
The first concert I attended was a Hilary Duff concert. My parents surprised me. They told me we were going to Hamilton (about an hour and a half drive away from Toronto) to have dinner with some family friends. They then pulled up to the venue and pulled out the tickets, and I was in shock. She was my idol at the time, she still kind of is, and I couldn’t believe I was going to see her live.
What was your first CD?
I think my first CD was the Spice Girls. But that was the first CD that was mine. I grew up on music so I was listening to all kinds of other music through my dad before then. He had a very eclectic taste in music from ABBA to Thin Lizzy.
Who was your first celebrity crush?
I honestly can’t remember who my first celebrity crush was. I was always into older men so when I was ten I probably had a crush on some twenty-something-year-old. I remember crushing over Olivia Wilde from her O.C days but I was older than ten and that crush lasted.
What was the first song you ever wrote?
The first song I ever wrote was called “Weighing On Me” and I still plan to tweak it and release it.
What was the first song you ever performed?
The first song I ever performed is a song that I’ve yet to release. It’s called, “If He Knew” and I do have plans to release it in the future, either as a single, on an EP, or on an album. I performed it at a show I played in Montreal. It’s one of my favourite songs I’ve written.
What was your first musical instrument?
My first musical instrument was a guitar. I actually really enjoyed playing it, but as I grew older, I fell more in love with hip-hop and R&B and began singing that type of music.
What was your first car?
I’ve never owned a car but the first car I drove was a Ford Edge. I’ve been told I’m a good driver, but right before I gave up my license, my legs used to shake a lot out of nervousness and anxiety when I drove. I figured that was dangerous, and that’s why I gave it up.
What was your first job?
My first job was at McDonald’s. I worked there for two years and started when I was 15. As a 15-year-old, I got asked out by men twice my age more times than I could count and harassed by countless others, which is what eventually drove me to quit that job.
