Erica Knox New Single Released – Paradise Forever

Erica Knox hails from Georgetown, Ontario. Erica Knox graduated from the Independent Music Production program at Seneca College in 2019, and has since been on a cross-Ontario tour, in addition to playing iconic Toronto venues such as The El Mocambo and Horseshoe Tavern. She has also opened for Canadian artists Virginia to Vegas, Hollerado, and Young Empires.

Erica Knox is 25-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer and had her song recorded in Toronto by the extremely talented Tal Vaisman of Kadeema, the two make a strong team, and are currently recording Knox’s catalogue for her debut album, set to release in early 2023.

From upbeat excitement to mellow nostalgia, her self-portrayed intimate lyrics about love, life, and identity alongside catchy hooks will remind you of modern day hit makers Taylor Swift and Julia Michaels. “I wanted to incorporate my love for organic storytelling with the excitement of modern day pop sonics, and create a familiar realm for the two to coexist. The singles I’ve released are on opposite spectrums [acoustic folk and electro-pop], and my new music will live within that”.

In 2019, after playing her first show with a band, Erica Knox was nominated as ‘Best Emerging Artist in Canada’ during Toronto’s annual Indie Week after her performance at ‘The Painted Lady’. Months later in early 2020, having prematurely completed her first tour with fellow Canadian artist, Andrew Sherriff, she had played over 40 shows within 14 weeks, and would have continued her cross-Ontario trek until October.

Erica Knox has also shared the stage with Canadian artists Virginia to Vegas, Hollerado, and Young Empires. With the rest of 2022 looking up, she is currently recording her first full-length record with Toronto based producer and musician, Tal Vaisman, of the band ‘Kadeema’. Her new single ‘Make Me Happy’ will be the first of many this year.

“Paradise Forever” is the perfect summer song for a late night drive, stroll down the beach, or watching the sunset with the one you love. The repetition of the analog synth beat throughout the song mimics a heartbeat racing with anticipation, waiting for the fireworks to erupt, which you’ll hear happen during the second pre-chorus onward.

This song was a late addition to her release plan, writing it only weeks before recording, but everything in me wanted to create an energetic, yet chill, pop song surrounding the best parts of being in love in the summer. It also lives in a bit of a different realm from my last single, ‘Make Me Happy’, released June 3rd, and I was drawn to showcase more sides to my work, both lyrically and sonically.
