Eastside Yalo and Nelia‘s latest single, “Why Don’t We Vibe,” interpolates Amerie’s 2002 hit song, “Why Don’t We Fall In Love.”
In the nearly three-minute bass-heavy trap offering, the two artists use a storytelling delivery to convey the nature of their relationship. Eastside Yalo uses a pristine flow to express how much he cares for this special someone. However, the rapper admits that in terms of commitment, “I ain’t ready, heart still heavy.” Despite his views on making things official, Eastside Yalo makes it known that she’ll always have a special place in his heart. The rapper follows this sentiment with words of admiration and reassurance, implying that what they share is real.
“No need to question if I’m repping our whole thing/Ghetto boy and girl love, yeah we was messy a fling,” he spits. “They know, that together we was better anyway/Gotta rub it all in, we on our hustle all 10.”
Meanwhile, Nelia wonders when her and her soon-to-be boo will make their relationship official. Nelia explains how they already act like they’re dating and why they’d be a great pair.
“What’s the right time for you and I to settle down?/if it’s right now, you know me, I’ll come around,” she sings. “So what’s up? We doing things that we ain’t used to/Let’s take it back and do it like it’s 02/Why don’t we, go and get this cash boo/Lissing on your tattoos/Dripping out your bathroom ohh.”
