A unique, smooth sounding Texas country singer-songwriter, Copperhead Jones first started writing songs in 2012 while deployed with the United States Navy.
Living in various places throughout his adult life has given him the ability to write songs that cover not only the true feel of the country way of life but also the shine of the city lights atmosphere. Well rounded, deep thinking and heartfelt lyrics, along with his own unique sound, not only crafted the foundation for the album but also bridges the gap between any state line boundaries of music.
We love your new fire music! How did you come up with the concept for the song?
The concept of the song “Anchor” was a collaboration of ideas between my co-writer C.W. Duncan and I used naval themes and connected it to my struggles with depression while serving in the US Navy.
What is your favorite part about the song?
My favorite part of the song is the bridge when the lyrics talk about how to be happy.
What were you most meticulous about on your latest song?
Personally I was most meticulous about the melody and feel the song would give to the lyrics
Your latest collaboration, how did this come about?
This all happened over a call from Texas to Florida talking with my co-writer about my past struggles.
Who did what on the song?
C.W. Duncan wrote the lyrics and I wrote the music and the song was produced by Josh Rodgers and Bart Rose.
What was the writing process like?
The writing process was a bit different because the lyrics were written then sent to me for me to make music without further coordination.
What kind of mood was set in order to create the magic?
Had a whiskey and cigar with guitar in hand. The music naturally flowed out.
Is there a critique you’ve gotten on the single that you worked through and it’s made the overall work better?
No but I wish we got critiqued way more often to build our songwriting abilities
What are you most excited about for fans to hear on your latest single?
I’m most excited for them to hear the deepest darkest moments of my life and that I found the light at the end of the tunnel.
What has been the best feedback so far?
Best feedback so far is from fellow songwriters telling me it’s the best song they heard from me yet.
