Charis admits to her lover that they “make her weak” in “I Love You.”
Channeling the characteristics of a love ballad, the three-minute and twenty-nine-second track finds the singer expressing how she feels toward a suitor.
Over the soothing R&B beat, the Georgia Peach uses a crystallized range to deliver these lyrics.
“You make it hard to concentrate/It’s your energy I crave (Oooo)/You’re one in a million/You got that sexual healin’ (Oooo), and I’m loving this feelin.”
She follows her sincerity with vows of devotion.
“Stealing your heart is my mission/I’m gonna play my position,” she sings. “Boy I have made my decision/And I accept the conditions.”
Digging deeper into “I Love You,” you’ll hear Charis crooning about how this person makes her “buckle in my knees” She details the depth of her love in the following passage.
“Eternity is all I need/Cross my heart in hopes to be/Everything you want of me.”
The song closes with her declaring, “if it ain’t love, I don’t want it.”
Charis was born in Mississippi and raised in Georgia since 6-years-old. In her younger years, she sang in church but didn’t jumpstart her career until 2019. Her EP drops this Juneteenth, featuring “I Love You.”
