Mack Mintis: A Musician Who Just Wants The Double M ‘s.

Mack Mintis (or like his songs mostly prefer him as: Double M), is an artist who approaches music in different ways. No matter the track, Mintis does diligence in putting his knack to use. One track can see Mintis using a melodic auto-croon, whereas another can showcase his rap deliveries. In like manner, Mintis speaks on his everlasting growth, giving back to his loved ones, giving back to his homeland, and staying focused. “I never tend to limit myself with things like themes, genres, or topics. I try as many things as possible,” he adds, “I love experimenting and finding sounds. If it counts, then I guess the ‘theme’ is growth. I have a bug for always making my next song better than the last.”

An example is his song “Angels,” which sees Mintis using retrospective lyrics and subtle ones about his big bang. He raps “I been up to some big shit lowkey, flying on the radar, they won’t catch me I’m still evolving when I die from my ashes,” and “Throw my ashes in rivers and oceans/I belong with big fish in the open/I’ve been trying to get rich for my homeland.” Another theme of Mintis’ is displayed in “Testament.” He spits about being aware of a label’s treachery and wanting to stay independent. Elsewhere, Double M also talks about keeping his eyes on the prize and even unveils a little about how he’s been feeling lately. He raps “I’m coming clean, I’m coming with baggage. And I got love but its trapped like someone wrapped my fucking heart around plastic/I come in flashing, I’m coming with passion. Don’t wait for the cameras I like to get straight to the action.”

On the whole, Mintis is an artist of transparency, versatility, and he certainly remains unfocused. His approach to music inspires others to think out of the box and chase their dreams. He shows that its okay to be in touch with your feelings. Just don’t lose sight of what’s crucial.

Mack Mintis is a 19-year-old artist whos originally from Ostróda, Poland. However, he moved to the U.K at five years old and has stayed ever since. His life revolves around music, including when he was younger. Initially, Mintis started his musicianship with a guitar, and he’d often put on mini-concerts in his living room. “My grandma use to layout metal bowls in her kitchen, and I would use cutlery as drumsticks on them. In short, that was my ‘drumkit,'” he continues “I was lucky to have a supportive, loving family who let me evolve as an artist despite the awful noises I used to produce as a three-year-old.” Once moving to England, Mintis was intrigued by video games. But shortly after, Mintis found music once more, before being swooned by hip-hop. “Eminem was my first real idol, and I wanted to be just like him, so I started writing lyrics. They were horrible.” By the time Mintis turned 13, he had bought his first USB mic so he could record vocals on Audacity. Now, he has a full home studio where he’s able to get to work!

His moniker, Mack Mintis, stems from this acronym: M.otivation and A.mbition to C.reate like a K.ing (MACK). The ‘Mintis’ came about because he’s fresh like a ‘Mint is”. Although he has mixed feelings about ‘Mack Mintis,’ he decided to keep the name because It’s catchy and sticks to his roots. “The movement behind Mack Mintis are the words “Double M,” which you will undoubtedly hear me say within my songs. What this movement is about is outworking and outshining—standing out. Double M because we want Double the M’s (millions) that you want. You wanna make 10 million? We’re going to make 20 million. You wanna sell out venues? We’re going to sell out arenas. Double the goal. Double M.”

The thing that he admires about music is its ability to bring people together. “Artists can go from strangers to good friends thanks to music, and another thing that’s crazy to me is how someone you completely don’t know is probably listening to your music right now.” Music, to him, is the purest art there is.

His musical influences are:

  1. “Tory Lanez plays a huge part in my creative process. I learned ALOT from him. The guy’s a genius. He taught me the whole ‘fit the words around the melody’ thing. His melodies and voice are out of this world and his flows are on another level.”
  2. Machine Gun Kelly because of his growth since 2012. It has been incredible and his genre switch has been legendary.
  3. Malik Montana would have to be one of the people I look up to from Poland, his versatility and quality of every song is always fire.”
  4. Young Thug of course also makes the list. He’s the father of modern rap music, he created a whole new wave and showed people new ways of using your voice.”
  5. Swae Lee because of his versatility, he can go from making the biggest club song to the biggest R&B song in the click of a finger.”
  6. Drake doesn’t really need an explanation does it.”

Moving forward, Mintis will expand his fanbase to U.K and Poland. He also has 9 songs in the works, which will see him tapping into his language. Besides this, Mintis will be hopping on tracks as a feature and debuting some English tracks. Possibly a music video as well, “2020 will just be a continuation of what’s been happening thus far. But I’m applying more pressure and booting down as many doors as I can. It’s mine for the taking and I’m 100% sure of it.”
