K Camp’s “Folded (Remix)” Explores Love, Frustration, & Letting Go

K Camp

K Camp puts his own impressive spin on Kehlani’s smash hit single, “Folded.” As warm R&B elements beautifully collide, he delivers a response from a male perspective. While the original song centers on letting go of a partner yet still longing for their presence, K Camp mirrors that emotional tug-of-war in his version.

Using his signature melodic flow, he tells his lover that he dipped because “there’s always something” occurring between them. From there, he reminisces about their honeymoon phase, which quickly dissipated as time passed. I was your dude / Everything was cool, and then it went cold,” he delivers. “Everything started off so good until the s**t get old.”

As the song continues, K Camp reveals why he’s close to throwing in the towel, questioning whether his sweetheart even recognizes his efforts to keep their relationship intact. In the same breath, he calls her out for letting herself go and not giving him her all. Although he acknowledges their differences, he still tries to make it work, but he isn’t here for the games and urges his lady to stop toying with his heart. “Girl I can’t tell when you’re lying / So who the f**k you trying to play with? You know I’m on timing / So girl f**k all them clothes / Got a B-Roll and its 40,” he sings.

He ultimately concludes that the relationship has run its course, admitting,Sometimes it don’t go how it’s planned / I guess I’m hopeless.” The song closes with K Camp searching for a future partner who will see his worth and love him the right way.
