Kiana Tenille Is Giving “That Girl,” With New Single “Let It Go”

The last time we tapped in with our girl Kiana Tenille she was recovering from heartbreak, but sis said it was time to shake it off and get back to business with her latest track “Let It Go.” I had the pleasure of reviewing Kiana’s first single “Homesick,” and I must say it only gets better from here with the way she’s working!

As a music critic and music enthusiast, I tend to analyze songs submitted to me using a certain criterion. 1. Quality of the mix & master/production, 2. Diction and projection of the voice (we need clean and crisp vocals), 3. Repeatable (if we can sing it over and over again we’ve got a hit). Of course, as a rising artist it takes time to nail all 3 at once, unless you’ve got it like that, and Kiana Tenille has definitely got IT! I’m fascinated with how seasoned she is at such a young age; True raw talent at its finest. Tenille strives to give us relatable R&B, trust me I’ve felt both “Homesick,” and time to let go. Let It Go is giving “I love Me” and “I’m That Girl.”

I feel like I sold my soul to be loved, but you look like home and you hurt so bad, you all I had.”

“All my love is all I need, I can’t give no energy n****s ain’t giving back.”

“You know that I’m dealing with some daddy issues, got it bad, you had it good when I was with you.”

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Most if not all of the best R&B tracks known from songstresses come from sorrow and heartache. Listening to “Let It Go,” kept bringing me back to the nostalgic cadence of “Ridin,” by Mya and “It Kills Me,” by Melanie Fiona. Tenille came out swinging with each and every line hitting harder than the next. That’s my favorite type of R&B, when the punchlines hit just like hip-hop/rap bars. But enough of my raving, take a listen for yourself. Click the link below to check out “Let It Go,” by Kiana Tenille.
