K$ The Kid – ‘WE CAN BOTH FLY’

Uplifting all achievers to trust the process, K$ The Kid ‘s WE CAN BOTH FLY is a 10-track album that’s lyrically equipped with personal chronicles of how his hard work paid off. In like manner, the records on this project are relatable by nature because it reveals moments when he faced tough challenges. Despite this, WE CAN BOTH FLY shows that you can do anything you set your mind to.

“HEIGHTS,” “Sunshyne,” “WHYULIE,” and “WE CAN BOTH FLY” show not only the rapper’s conviction but his ambition as well. He also drops a line of warning bars toward those who didn’t see the vision from the start.

“Family Business” and “Melody” detail his family history. More specifically, K$ The Kid raps about his relationship with his mother. “City of Angels” and “Eternity” speak more about where he and his darling stand.

“Eternity” finds K$ The Kid promising to cherish an admirer who “be running on his mind like they’re bolt on the track.” Over a boom-bap/R&B beat, he puts his cards on the table. In other words, the rapper professes how he truly feels toward the woman with his heart

K$ The Kid is sure of his feelings but doesn’t know if it’s mutual.

Assuring his sweetie that she won’t have to worry about getting her heart broken, he raps.

You one of a kind I know I’ll never replace it/You ain’t gotta trip know your ex was on some lame shit/He ain’t like the kid baby I can get your flame lit/Loving you is dangerous you can speak my language/I could make it good we could both be living painless.”

Soon after, the musician implies that it’s them against the world. “Yeah, tried bring us down, but shit we reaching the top,” he raps. “And I only see them talk because the want we got.”

Asking his dear to take a chance on dating him, K$ vows to keep the love alive.

As the song progresses, K$ The Kid wonders if he’s putting in too much effort to bring them again. After questioning her motives, the rapper rebuttals any doubts she has with more reasons why they should date.

Give my all, is that enough/You always hide your feelings/I can never tell what’s up,” he spits.

Elsewhere, K$ The Kid also says

And I’ll be there if you need me/I want a good life/We could take it easy.”
