On the fence about leaving or staying, Haisai Mache, Lxrenzx.Cxsta, and Xander William detail a toxic relationship relative to “Expired Milk.” Moreover, the musicians tap into a vulnerable state and elaborate on why they feel love is genocide. The dreamy pop production ties nicely with their vocal deliveries and raw lyrics.
Using a soft appeasing vocal range, Haisai Maché urges his love to stay awhile so they can work out their differences. Since their split, Maché says that he’s been feeling emptiness. He croons,
“I don’t even wanna wake up no more/Just gotta get my cake up go home.”
Lxrenzx.Cxsta expresses himself in a slight autotune that gravitates his listeners to what he’s saying. After contemplating his ex’s actions following their breakup, he demands she stop lying on his name.
“Wanna know ’bout all the stories that you told your friends,” he says. “Talking about how I was toxic and some shit like that/Girl that’s a lie (Lie).”
From there, Lxrenzx describes how he’s been taking their breakup.
“I wonder who am I/Oh woah woah/I don’t know how to feel/All this shit to deal with,” he says.
Lastly, Xander William clarifies that he just can’t let it go. After being betrayed one too many times by his former flame, he’s had enough.
Xander even raps, “I’m just tryna let you know/Shit ain’t that complicated/You seem professional/You’re way too used to this sport/Stabbed in the back a force of habit/You ain’t love me at all.”
Taking note of this never-ending cycle of chaos, the artist knows he must move on. However, some parts of their relationship make him come back for more.
