Frito – “The Realest”

Frito

Frito uses a storytelling cadence to illustrate a raw cut of the street life via “The Realest.” In like manner, the New York lyricist forewarns opps who keep “talking that chatter.”

Over a Bay Area-esque trap beat, the rapper goes in about reclaiming power after taking a low blow from someone he trusted. These sharp bars are followed by Frito’s retaliation method, which shows why karma is real.

“Mission accomplished he just blew it off your shoulders/When you tried to prove to everyone around here you the coldest,” Frito raps. “Homie drippin’ and splattered/And when they talking that chatter he will commenced with the batter/ And his sentence will get fatter.”

The rest of this verse finds Frito detailing how someone can easily get caught up in a dangerous lifestyle.

The leeches had to go and get the bag/Didn’t matter the tag/So they paid the price while they sag,” he spits.

Afterward, Frito proudly boasts about his several talents, including a few bars about his pen game. Then, he thinks back to serene moments in his life before unnecessary drama came into play. Later on, the artist gives another example of karma doing its job.

He raps, “Kickin’ rocks down the road while he runnin from the cops/Cause they just got a tip that he popped one of his opps/Got the drop on the spot/They the pigeons, so they flock. They just swarm around the trap house while he getting WAP.”

Circling back to a “you can’t break me” mannerism, Frito paints a picture of a person’s combative nature when provoked. Even when he’s warned to leave the dangers behind, the main character can’t seem to let bygones be bygones.

Hey baby, you cannot do this no more/Why not?/Because they gon come and shoot through the door/The lines blocked your child cannot sleep through anymore/So why stop, they out there tryin to take it all this my block! Ahh, now my rotators locked.”

The song closes with Frito speaking about bringing the truth to light. Moreover, he’s putting all fugazies to rest. He won’t stop at nothing to prove that he’s “The Realest.”

Frito has been rapping and making music for three years but started taking it seriously last year. He's inspired to make music by whatever mood he's feeling. Moreover, Frito is emerging into several genres.

He takes admiration from artists like J. Cole, Eminem, Slaughterhouse, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre.

“My message when creating my music is for people who listen to my music to relate to it and be able to vibe to it and enjoy listening to it while they can relate to it. Also, when people listen to my music, I want them to understand that you don’t have to be a street thug to make hip hop. Just realize that it isn’t you, so don’t portray that, or you might get stomped,” he adds.
