Sacramento, California artist Ka$h Kyle was introduced to music just past the age of a toddler. Do you remember what you were doing when you were five years old? Kyle was already learning how to play the piano and developing natural music abilities that he didn’t even know he had yet. By High School, Ka$h Kyle was posting videos of himself on Twitter covering popular songs from top artists. Not only did this gain him a good amount of traction on the internet, but he was also sharpening his most important tool that, today, sets him apart from many. After practicing different styles of music over and over again through song covers, It was only a matter of time before Kyle would show us what he is truly capable of. He took the time to learn FL Studio for himself, and the rest is history.
Officially starting his music career in 2018, Ka$h Kyle came up with his artist name because he wanted something catchy and easy to remember. Some of his biggest musical influences are Trippie Redd, Playboi Carti, K Suave, Lil Uzi Vert, Pierre Bourne, The Smiths, Sweet Trip and The Cure. With such a diverse range of influences, and after listening to Ka$h Kyle’s catalog, his biggest strength is definitely his versatility. Kyle is a musical chameleon who can shift in and out of genres such as House, Pop, Alternative Rock, and Rap, just to name a few. With the release of Xtina, his third single of 2022 that Kyle describes as “floating through the cosmos”, he did exactly that.
Xtina (featuring EastBayTae) is a melodic, ethereal track where Ka$h Kyle showcases great vocals. The song has the laid back elements that we see a lot in cloud/mumble rap as Kyle croons over production by Level and Swaggy B. Similar to Trippie Redd, Playboi Carti , KSuave, and the other artists that Kyle has been influenced by in this bracket of Hip-Hop, the Sacramento artist understands that less is more when it comes to production. The beat leaves a lot of space for both artists to take their verses and melodies where ever they want. It may sound like some of the lyrics are unrecognizable to the ear, but the cadences blend so well with the production that is just makes sense.
It seems like Kyle was trying to create a vibe similar to that of his influences. The pairing with EastBayTae made a lot of sense given the spacey and euphoric sound that was intended for Xtina. Ka$h Kyle understands that his music is meant to evoke an emotional response from his listeners and he loves that about his artistry. I personally think this is a very well put together track that anyone who is a fan of Trippie Redd, K Suave and the alike will enjoy.
