Tarah Who? on Music and Creativity!

Hi Tarah Who?! Thank you for speaking with me!
TGC: Thanks for having us!

What have you been working on lately?

CH : We just released a new album called “Supposedly, A Man” so we are promoting it, and we also are working on our next EP.
TGC: Yes, promoting the new album is essential, and we are getting ready to shoot a music video for a new song that is coming out in December. Like Coralie said, we are also getting ready to release a new EP for 2022!

Your video for ‘Bad Time’ is in the first round of Grammy consideration! That is so exciting! Can you talk about that process a bit?

TGC: Actually, we have 2 videos that got into the first round. ‘Bad Time’ and ‘Supposedly A Man’. It is really exciting and nerve-wracking. Trying not to think about it so much so I am not too disappointed! So anyone can submit to the Grammys, there are just a few guidelines and deadlines to follow. The first round means, that there were for instance in the music video category a lot of submissions we made the “first cut”, but then voting members, will select only a few of them who will move forward to the second round of votes, and those are the nominees. We will know the winner on January 31, 2022. I hope that made sense!

Now that your album is out in the world and has had some time to breathe, how has the reception been?

CH : It has been pretty well !! We were a little bit nervous because this album is a little bit different from our previous one, but all good hahaha !!!
TGC: The hardest part as an independent band is promoting your work and yourself. Anyone these days can make music and release it to the world. Whether it is good or bad, as long as you pay the fee, your music will be on digital platforms. The biggest job, after the release, is the promotion so that your music gets hears, reviewed, spread around the world. We have been really fortunate to have had really positive feedback so far, and this has been really motivating to do more.

How does it feel to see the amazing results of your hard work?
TGC: I want to say relieving If I must be honest to see how fans and new fans have been reacting to the new music. Part of me is never entirely satisfied, and want more. More results, more in my face results, but I have high expectations, which is sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse!

Do you have any words of advice to artists who maybe are just starting their careers?

CH : It might not be easy but if you want it, you can do it.
TGC: Yeah for sure, and really if you want to write music or be creative, do it for yourself first. People are attracted to passion. Don’t get into music for money, because you most likely are not going to make any lol! you are doing it for the love and passion of music or arts.

Do you have new projects or upcoming live shows in the works?

CH : We actually have a show on December 10th at the Maui Sugar Mill in Tarzana, so come join us if you are around, it will be fun!!
TGC: Yeah, we are most focused on the recordings and promoting and when everything is safer, we will be booking new shows and going back out!
We are definitely missing the live performances, but little by little we are getting back to it. 🙂

Please let everyone know where they can find all of your amazing work!

TGC: I think that if you google Tarah Who? you should be able to find us, our platforms, and social media. so pick your favorite and see you on there!

Thank you for your time!

Thank you!
