Ali: “New Shapes” by Charli XCX, Christine and the Queens, and Caroline Polacheck

What is your favorite verse on it? 

Ali: The overall vibe of the song is just insane. I’m a sucker for a big synth moment. The bridge of the song is my favorite. Melody/lyrics/delivery… you have to listen.

What were you most meticulous about on your latest song? 

Ali: Probably everything going on in the background… ad libs, sounds, oohs and aahhhs. If you listen closely in the second verse there’s a line that says “don’t wanna take it there, but I’m a hostage, you make me nauseous” and then a I make a little gagging noise hahaha.

Is there a critique you’ve gotten on your music that you worked through and it’s made the overall work better? 

Ali: Just to keep writing songs. More and more and more songs. I feel like I grow with each one for the most part. I take something away from every session.

What are you most excited about for fans to hear on your latest single?

Ali: The energy behind it. I hope it makes people want to move a little 🙂

Ali: I’m playing a New Year’s Eve show in Nashville, the venue is still TBD but keep following my socials and I’ll post as soon as I find out!
