Hasko Montana respectfully keeps his mind on the money in his latest song, “Another Thousand.” The instrumental, by Karltin Bankz, matches Montana’s gritty delivery. In further detail, the Bankz-created beat combines eerie piano loops and trap elements.
In his wordplay, the Fokus emcee keeps it 100. Without delay, Montana speaks about his constant grind, notating his accomplishments. Because the rapper spends his time wisely, he’d prefer not to waste it on irrelevant scenarios.
“This sh*t off the charts came a long way from getting loaded off them bars,” he raps. “Hasky ain’t tripping bout no lil b*tch/Don’t call my phone up bout no brawd/B*tch I’m pressure/that’s why n*ggas want pressure/Get that sh*t off yo heart.”
After, the rapper spits about envious friends turned foes who sneer at his success. But, the star isn’t fretting over this dilemma. Instead, it drives him to grind harder.
“A couple my patnas changed cause I done got some change,” he spits. “N*ggas trippin’, keep that sh*t in yo lane/Cause I catch yo whip in mine ima flip it.”
If things get out of hand, the rapper assures that he’ll set it off. From that point on, he isn’t listening to their sob stories or the “he said/she said.” The spitter refuses to hang around money-oriented individuals.
He raps, “Like what is you saying/Why is you talking to me if you ain’t talking bout getting no bag?”
Along with,
“And that’s on my mama these n*ggas just keep up drama/These b*tch a** n*ggas be drags/It’s gone be a cold summer/Another thousand to get a n*gga dragged.”
Lastly, Montana assures the opps that he’s got friends who care about his safety. They will never put him in harm’s way. Also, the “Fast Kar” lyricist says one has to find their own money-making motive. He closes with this powerful excerpt.
“Don’t you dive in that shark up in that water, get devoured/I took some L’s but always got right back/Ain never b*tch about it.”
Regardless of whatever happens, he always takes the good with the bad.
