Big Steeze – A lot (Music Video)

New York hip-hop artist Big Steeze releases the music video for  ‘A lot’ off Viral (Deluxe) album.

‘A Lot’ is the first single you’ll hear off of Big Steeze’s Viral (Deluxe) album released earlier this year. Steeze uses his unique voice and cadence to put his own twist on a drill beat with an unforgettable guitar sample. The video depicts cold winters to go with theme of the song; friends turning cold. Hailing from Niagara Falls, New York, this single needs to be added to all NY drill playlists now! We asked Big Steeze some questions about the project overall and a bit about his personal life.

How do you feel about ‘Viral’?

'I feel like Viral the album really helped me develop as far as my sound.'

Compared to his 2019 and 2020 releases, you can definitely see that Steeze’s sound is polished and ready to go. Even comparing Viral to the Viral (Deluxe), Big Steeze combines his unique pitch, rapping ability, and effortless drill flow to create some new bangers.

Is ‘A lot’ your favorite track from the deluxe album?

'My personal favorite song off the deluxe is Clueless. Clueless has more of a Miami/ LA vibe
so I wanted to wait till I can shoot a video in one of them locations.'

Leading with A lot and dropping the music video during a January east coast winter couldn’t have fit the song any better. We’re looking forward to a completely different vibe for the Clueless video!

Tell us about the theme of friends turning to foes. What role does trust play in your life?

'I’m sure everyone can relate to friends turning foes from people you thought you could trust
stabbing you in the back up into more life threatening situations.'

What inspired the video? Describe the creation process.

'Me and my director RK production collaborated on the treatment for 'A lot'. We figured we should use the snow
for the scenery and I brought a couple dirt bikes out to add to the aesthetic.'

Do you consider yourself a ‘drill’ artist?

'I don’t classify myself as one type of artist, I'd say I make mood music.
It depends on what mood I’m in.'

What would you tell someone about Niagara Falls, New York if they weren’t familiar?

'I'd tell some one no it’s not in Canada, since that’s the first thing everybody seems to think,
and that just because it’s not a “big” city doesn’t mean it’s the “country”.'

Which artists inspired you growing up?

'Growing up i went through three different stages. Middle school to early high school was Lil Wayne 100%, a little T-Pain, can’t forget Sean Kingston.
Then I got into more street rap like Meek Mill, Cassidy, 50 Cent, and Jadakiss. As of more recently it’s been a mixture of both;
from artist like A Boogie and J.I to people like Mozzy (from Sacramento) and Rio Da Young Og (from Flint).'

Steeze cites Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Meek Mill, 50 Cent, A Boogie, and more as influences along three different stages of his life. NY artists leave a heavy presence, but this list is also full of musicians who push their limits vocally. Combine that with the sound of street legends like Jadakiss, Cassidy, and 50 Cent, and we get a pretty interesting mix. Big Steeze garners influence from all areas of hip-hop and it is easy to hear throughout his catalog.

Do you remember the first song you ever made?

'Well before I started making songs I would record videos of myself rapping to mainstream beats.
I definitely remember a few of those. I started those around 9 or 10.'
