Fresh off the heels of his “2020 Freestyle,” A Lexx teamed up with Sho Time for their song, “No Balance.” From a lyrical standpoint, both rappers address egoistic mumble rappers who think their music is top-tier. But, in reality, it sounds like a heap of mumbo jumbo.
The first musician to step on the track is A Lexx, who drops merciless bars for those who claim they got talent. Using a clear-cut, bouncy flow, he addresses those in the rap game who swear their artistry is next-level. He puts those statements to rest once and for all, saying, “My flows nine and shootin’ at anybody with kill lines.”
Afterward, A Lexx explains why he’s lyrically equipped and destined to have longevity in the hip-hop game. Unlike his competitors who lean on a ghost rider for bangers, A Lexx’s knack for rapping has even earned him fans worldwide. Most importantly, A Lexx knows that he’s meant to fulfill his purpose on Earth. No matter how long he’s gone, the music industry, his fans, and loved ones will always have their arms open for him.
Sho Time taps into an auto-tune register to deliver his rhymes about police brutality, which, unfortunately, is ongoing. “Police really hate us kids dying with their hands up,” he spits. Then, the rapper explains why he keeps a small circle, saying loyalty is dear to him. There’s no time for fake love, only real love.
He raps, “Kept it 100 while you was stuntin’/Get to the money gotta achieve it/Keep my circle tight cause I can’t trust none/ And if I say I love you its a reason.”
Before closing out his verse, Sho Time declares that he’s always going to stay true to his sound. Unlike the newer rappers, his delivery doesn’t come off duplicated. The Max I Beats-instrumental is a blend of R&B and trap. Subsequently, the R&B arrangements are slightly akin to the ones found in Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine.”
The music video, directed by Forever Loyal Vision, finds the duo working hard in the studio, chilling at the store, and vibing out with friends.
