Yashea doesn’t allow others to mistreat her. In actuality, she will put her well-being before someone who gives off bad energy. We get an understanding of this, especially in her new song “Had To Leave.” Over the somber, piano-led R&B track, Yashea expresses why she had to chuck the deuces at someone who once held a significant role in her life. She starts the song with “Had to up and leave you, I don’t really feel the same.”
Although people would be against her decision, she doesn’t regret leaving the one who caused her pain behind. One thing she does hope for is to be forgiven by God for her sins.
Because Yashea is tapped into her confidence, she’s able to see her worth. In a swift, melodic cadence, she delivers this one line: “‘Cause I’m a masterpiece, and you can kiss my ass for free.”
As the song continues, Yashea calls out musicians who lowkey hate on her, saying, “You really suck, ain’t got no cadence/That shit is blatant.” In the end, she concludes that she’s above them and is destined for greatness.”
Afterward, she sings some of the chorus from “Candy Rain” by Soul For Rain. Then, Yashea begins to drop unbothered bars about the intensity of pain and how it only makes one stronger. Moreover, she expresses the consequences that come with hurting her feelings. Ultimately, she doesn’t give out second chances. In other words, they’re going to reap what they sow.
