Chicago-based rapper/producer Rich Baby collabs with fellow Chicago artist Lotus Blooming on Don’t Mean It. Rich Baby kicks off the song with a catchy hook, blending his melodies perfectly with the beat. Co-producing the instrumental with DJ MOD, the arrangement sounds like a trap-spin to a level of Super Mario Bros.

 

 

 

He continues to rap lavishly about smoking the best (in the clouds, tempurpedic) and blowing bags, but this could possibly be to numb the pain of disappointment or a break up. Other lyrics include ‘my heart is heavy I can’t breathe, I been fighting all these demons’. However Rich Baby chooses to cope, we hope more songs like this come out of it. The artist lets us know he’s ‘so solo’ for now and has no problem spending blue hunnids on himself.

Lotus Blooming is an artist we’re very familiar with and she kills the track yet again. It didn’t take a long verse for her to make a big impact on the track. Just like Rich Baby, she is in her ‘solo’ bag focused on success and positivity. The theme of the entire song is to keep your fake love away if you Don’t Mean It.

Rich Baby reminds us a lot of another artist and producer by the name of Pi’erre Bourne, known for collaborations with Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Nudy,  and more.
